I'm Benjamin Tremblay. I'm currently a master's student in Computer Science at the William & Mary School of Computing, Data Sciences & Physics, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I earned my bachelor's in Computer Science from W&M last year, with a concentration in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
I've previously collaborated with Professor Antonio Mastropaolo on research, supported by funding from the Charles Center.
In Spring 2026, I competed in my first National Cyber League tournament, including getting #13 in the world with my team in the experienced bracket. A few of the highlights from that (and some other things I've been part of) are below.
Outside of research and coursework, I like training and fine-tuning models, reading fantasy novels, working out, and spending time with cats. Ps: check the Cats page on my site for a bit of fun!
I played for two years as a D1 athlete in William & Mary's Esports program. Playing Valorant in a team environment was a great learning experience. Absolute coordination is required to play well, and constant, clear communication is essential. The time I spent competing taught me the importance of collaboration and gave me a strong understanding of what it means to be a reliable team player.
I participated in my first National Cyber League tournament in Spring 2026 and achieved a ranking in the top 500 worldwide. Through the experience, I learned a great deal and gained valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in the field of cybersecurity.
After the individual game, I competed alongside other top William & Mary cyber players in the team game under the experienced bracket, the more advanced of the two brackets. Through our determination and effort, my team finished #13 worldwide among all teams competing in the bracket.
Going to college as a first-generation student can be both arduous and nerve-wracking. Without the experience of your parents to guide and advise you through your college years, perseverance is a must. This is why I am proud to say that I joined Alpha Alpha Alpha National Honor Society, a national honor society dedicated to supporting first-generation, low-income students.
